Seat of the Synod, Artifact land, designed by John Avon first released in Oct, 2003 in the set Mirrodin and was printed exactly in 14 different ways. It see play in 3 formats: Pauper, Commander and Brawl. It's a key card in 4 combos.
The Seat of the Synod would benefit a deck that focuses on artifacts and blue mana, such as an artifact combo or control deck. While it can provide blue mana, there are better options like Ancient Tomb or City of Traitors for faster mana acceleration. Seat of the Synod could see play in certain artifact-heavy decks, but its vulnerability to artifact removal and lack of additional utility may limit its inclusion in competitive decks.
