About Raise Dead

Raise Dead, Sorcery, designed by Jeff A. Menges first released in Aug, 1993 in the set Limited Edition Alpha and was printed exactly in 32 different ways. It see play in 1 formats: Commander.

A deck that focuses on graveyard recursion or reanimation strategies, such as a Black-based control or midrange deck, would benefit from using Raise Dead. While Raise Dead is a solid option for its mana cost, there are more versatile and powerful options available, such as Animate Dead or Reanimate, which directly put the creature onto the battlefield instead of just returning it to your hand. Raise Dead could see play in budget decks or as a supplemental option in decks that require additional graveyard interaction.
