This card could be beneficial in a control deck that focuses on disrupting your opponent's artifacts, especially in formats where artifacts play a significant role. While Phyrexian Gremlins can be useful in certain situations, there are better options available such as Goblin Welder or Karn, the Great Creator which offer more versatile artifact manipulation abilities. Overall, whether or not Phyrexian Gremlins should see play would depend on the specific strategy and synergy of the deck it is being considered for.

If the Gremlins somehow become an artifact and then tap themselves, they can never be untapped during the untap phase. They must be untapped by an external effect.

The target artifact can’t untap if the Gremlins and the artifact are tapped during untap, even if it is your artifact, and you plan on untapping the Gremlins.
