Orim's Chant, Instant, designed by Kev Walker first released in Feb, 2001 in the set Planeshift and was printed exactly in 6 different ways. It see play in 2 formats: Commander and Brawl.
A white control deck would benefit from using Orim's Chant as it can shut down an opponent's ability to cast spells for a turn, providing a crucial tempo advantage. However, there are better options available such as Silence, which has a similar effect but can target all opponents, making it more versatile and impactful in a wider range of situations. Orim's Chant could see play in specific matchups where the additional kicker effect is relevant, but overall, Silence is a more efficient and powerful choice for most decks.

This can’t be used as a counterspell. It will have no effect on spells which were on the stack when it was cast, nor on those cast in response to it.

This spell does nothing to creatures which are already attacking. It does not remove attacking creatures from combat.
