Morkrut Necropod, Creature — slug horror, designed by Alejandro Mirabal first released in Apr, 2016 in the set Shadows over Innistrad and was printed exactly in 3 different ways.
A deck that focuses on sacrificing creatures for value, such as a black sacrifice deck or a graveyard recursion strategy, would benefit from using Morkrut Necropod. However, there are better options available in Magic: the Gathering for similar effects, such as Grave Titan or Wurmcoil Engine, which provide more value for their cost and have a bigger impact on the game. Morkrut Necropod may not see much play in competitive decks due to its high cost and the potential drawbacks of sacrificing creatures or lands.

When Morkrut Necropod attacks, its trigger doesn’t resolve until after all attackers have been chosen. The same is true for when it blocks. This means that another creature, such as one enchanted with Invocation of Saint Traft, can also attack or block and then be sacrificed. Sacrificing a blocking creature this way doesn’t cause the creature it blocked to become unblocked.
