Mer-Ek Nightblade, Creature — orc assassin, designed by Lucas Graciano first released in Sep, 2014 in the set Khans of Tarkir and was printed exactly in 2 different ways.
Mer-Ek Nightblade would be a valuable addition to a black-based aggro or midrange deck focused on creature combat, as it provides a powerful ability in granting deathtouch to all creatures with +1/+1 counters. While it may not be a standout card on its own, when combined with other cards that can generate +1/+1 counters efficiently, such as Hardened Scales or Winding Constrictor, it can create a formidable board presence. However, for more competitive play, cards like Winding Constrictor or Corpsejack Menace may offer better value by doubling the number of +1/+1 counters placed on creatures, making them potentially stronger options to consider over Mer-Ek Nightblade.

The cost to activate a creature’s outlast ability includes the tap symbol (). A creature’s outlast ability can’t be activated unless that creature has been under your control continuously since the beginning of your turn.
