About Lorehold Pledgemage

Lorehold Pledgemage, Creature — kor shaman, designed by Jake Murray first released in Mar, 2021 in the set Strixhaven: School of Mages.

This Lorehold Pledgemage card would be beneficial in a red/white aggressive deck that focuses on casting instant and sorcery spells to trigger its Magecraft ability and pump up its power. While it can be a solid addition to such a deck, there are potentially better options like Monastery Swiftspear or Soul-Scar Mage that offer more consistent and impactful abilities for a similar mana cost, so it may not see widespread play in competitive Magic: The Gathering decks.

Rules

04/16/21

Each magecraft ability has a different effect, although they all have the same trigger condition, whenever you cast or copy an instant or sorcery spell.

04/16/21

If an effect creates a copy of an instant or sorcery spell, this will also cause the magecraft ability to trigger.

04/16/21

Some effects instruct you to copy an instant or sorcery card in a zone other than the stack. These copies do not cause magecraft abilities to trigger. However, most effects that do this also allow you to cast the copy, and casting the copy will cause magecraft abilities to trigger.
