About Drain Life

Drain Life, Sorcery, designed by Douglas Shuler first released in Aug, 1993 in the set Limited Edition Alpha and was printed exactly in 19 different ways.

A deck that focuses on controlling the board and gaining life would benefit from using Drain Life, as it provides a versatile way to deal damage and replenish your own life total. However, there are better cards like Exsanguinate or Gray Merchant of Asphodel that offer more impactful life gain or damage potential in certain scenarios, so Drain Life may not always be the optimal choice in competitive play but could still find a place in more casual or thematic decks.
