While its ability to scry multiple times can provide card selection and help dig for key pieces, there are more efficient cards like Augury Owl or Augur of Bolas that offer similar effects with lower mana costs and immediate impact, making them better choices for competitive play. However, for casual or thematic decks centered around scrying and library manipulation, Cryptic Annelid could still see play for its unique and flavorful design.
