Bastion Mastodon, Artifact creature — elephant, designed by Victor Adame Minguez first released in Sep, 2016 in the set Kaladesh and was printed exactly in 3 different ways.
This card, Bastion Mastodon, could be beneficial in a White-based control deck that focuses on stalling the game and protecting its life total. Its ability to gain vigilance can be useful for both attacking and blocking while still being able to hold up mana for other spells. However, in a competitive environment, there are likely better options available such as Baneslayer Angel or Lyra Dawnbringer which offer more impactful abilities and stats for a similar cost, making Bastion Mastodon less likely to see play in top-tier decks.

Once Bastion Mastodon is tapped and attacking, gaining vigilance won’t cause it to become untapped.
