Cateran Persuader, Creature — human mercenary, designed by Carl Critchlow first released in Oct, 1999 in the set Mercadian Masques.
This Cateran Persuader card would be beneficial in a Mercenary tribal deck in Magic: the Gathering, as it allows for quick and efficient searching and deployment of low-cost Mercenary cards. However, in more competitive play, other cards like Aether Vial might be more efficient for similar effects, making Cateran Persuader less likely to see play in top-tier decks.

Because the “search” requires you to find a card with certain characteristics, you don’t have to find the card if you don’t want to.
