Bethesda has revealed the name of Skyrim’s successor: The Elder Scrolls VI: Sentinel. Todd Howard announced the title on Tuesday (3) during the studio’s 40th-anniversary celebration, eight years after the next game in the series was announced at E3 2018. The new adventure in Tamriel will take players back to Hammerfell.Sentinel is a port city in the province, the homeland of the Redguards. Players could visit it in The Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall, released in 1996, and it also appears in The Elder Scrolls Online. For players familiar with those games, the name places the next adventure in a familiar part of the map.Bethesda’s teaser offers a clue about the timeline. In it, Yazar, a priest in the service of Hammerfell’s Queen Iradne, says he saw “a lost future” and “a victory undone” in a scroll. His account is dated to the year 206 of the Fourth Era, five years after the start of Skyrim. The date of Yazar’s account, however, does not establish when Sentinel’s story begins. Bethesda has not yet revealed that detail. For now, the teaser offers Yazar’s words as a clue without explaining what they mean for the game’s story.Skyrim turns 15 on November 11. The Elder Scrolls VI: Sentinel still has no announced release date. With information from Legião dos Heróis.
