Until then, the four titles are considered potential contenders in the international competition.This year’s cycle considers productions first broadcast or made available between January 1 and December 31, 2025 eligible. “Três Graças,” “Dona de Mim” and “Guerreiros do Sol” fall within that period under the stated criteria.“Garota do Momento” premiered in November 2024, but most of its episodes aired the following year. The telenovela may still compete under the “Hanging Episodes” rule, which sets out criteria for works broadcast across different eligibility periods.Brazil has a strong track record at the International Emmy Awards. “Caminho das Índias” became the first Brazilian telenovela to win the statuette in 2009. It was followed by “Lado a Lado” in 2013, “Joia Rara” in 2014, “Império” in 2015, “Verdades Secretas” in 2016 and “Órfãos da Terra” in 2020.The next step comes in September, when the International Emmy Awards will officially announce the nominees for the 2026 edition.
