About Wind-Kin Raiders

Wind-Kin Raiders, Creature — human artificer, designed by Shreya Shetty first released in Jan, 2017 in the set Aether Revolt and was printed exactly in 4 different ways.

A deck focused on artifacts and mana acceleration would benefit from including Wind-Kin Raiders, as it can be cast more efficiently with the Improvise ability. However, there are potentially better options available in terms of power and versatility, such as Tezzeret, Master of the Bridge or Sai, Master Thopterist. Whether Wind-Kin Raiders should see play depends on the specific strategy and synergy of the deck, as it may not always be the optimal choice compared to other options available.

Rules

02/09/17

Because improvise isn’t an alternative cost, it can be used in conjunction with alternative costs.

02/09/17

Improvise can’t be used to pay for anything other than the cost of casting the spell. For example, it can’t be used during the resolution of an ability that says “Counter target spell unless its controller pays .”

02/09/17

Improvise doesn’t change a spell’s mana cost or converted mana cost.

02/09/17

Tapping an artifact won’t cause its abilities to stop applying unless those abilities say so.
