The Tower of the Magistrate could be beneficial in a deck that focuses on protecting key creatures from artifact-based removal or decks heavy on artifact creatures. However, there are better options like Cavern of Souls or Gaea's Cradle that provide more versatile and powerful effects. Ultimately, the Tower of the Magistrate may not see much play in competitive decks due to its limited protection ability compared to other land cards available.
