About Sluiceway Scorpion

Sluiceway Scorpion, Creature — scorpion, designed by Slawomir Maniak first released in Oct, 2012 in the set Return to Ravnica.

This card would be beneficial in a Golgari (black-green) midrange or control deck in Magic: the Gathering due to its deathtouch ability and the potential to scavenge for additional value from the graveyard. While Sluiceway Scorpion can be a solid inclusion in a deck looking to control the board and generate incremental advantage, there may be better options available such as cards with more impactful abilities or higher power/toughness ratios, like Lotleth Troll or Varolz, the Scar-Striped, depending on the specific strategy and synergies of the deck. Ultimately, the decision to include Sluiceway Scorpion would depend on the overall game plan and power level of the deck in question.

Rules

04/15/13

Exiling the creature card with scavenge is part of the cost of activating the scavenge ability. Once the ability is activated and the cost is paid, it’s too late to stop the ability from being activated by trying to remove the creature card from the graveyard.
