This card, Rout, would be beneficial in a control deck that aims to wipe the board of all creatures to gain control of the game. While Rout is a powerful board wipe with the added flexibility of being cast at instant speed, some players may prefer other options like Wrath of God or Supreme Verdict for their lower mana cost or additional effects. However, Rout could still see play in certain control decks looking for a versatile board wipe option.
