Quicksand could be beneficial in a control deck that aims to slow down aggressive strategies by weakening attacking creatures. However, there are better options like Maze of Ith or Mutavault that provide more versatile or powerful effects. Quicksand may not see much play in competitive decks due to its limited impact compared to other land cards available in Magic: the Gathering.
