About Parasitic Strix

Parasitic Strix, Artifact creature — bird, designed by Steven Belledin first released in Feb, 2009 in the set Conflux and was printed exactly in 3 different ways. It's a key card in 1 combos.

This card would benefit a deck that focuses on a combination of blue and black colors, with a strategy centered around controlling the board and gaining incremental advantages through life gain and loss. While Parasitic Strix can be a solid addition to such a deck, there are potentially better options like Baleful Strix, which offers card advantage in addition to a similar effect. Whether Parasitic Strix should see play ultimately depends on the specific strategy and synergy within the deck, but it could be a valuable inclusion in the right build.

Rules

08/07/20

If you don’t control a black permanent immediately after Parasitic Strix enters the battlefield, its ability doesn’t trigger. If you don’t control one as the ability resolves, no player loses or gains life. It doesn’t have to be the same black permanent both times, however.
