Metrognome, Artifact, designed by Jeff Laubenstein first released in May, 2020 in the set Urza's Saga.
Metrognome would be a great addition to a deck focused on generating token creatures and benefiting from opponents' discard effects, such as a token swarm or discard synergy deck. While there may be more powerful cards in terms of efficiency or impact, Metrognome's ability to create multiple tokens in response to being discarded can provide valuable board presence and resilience. Its utility will depend on the specific strategy and synergies of the deck, but it could certainly see play in the right build.
