About Lifeline

Lifeline, Artifact, designed by D. Alexander Gregory first released in May, 2020 in the set Urza's Saga.

This Lifeline card would be beneficial in a deck that focuses on sacrificing creatures for various effects, such as a sacrifice or reanimator deck. While Lifeline can be powerful in certain situations, there are better cards like Mikaeus, the Unhallowed or Athreos, God of Passage that offer more versatile and impactful abilities in similar strategies. Whether Lifeline should see play would depend on the specific synergies and strategies of the deck, as it can be a situational but potentially powerful card in the right context.

Rules

03/01/10

If more than one creature is on the battlefield and all the creatures on the battlefield go to the graveyard at once, then none of them are returned at end of turn. This is because Lifeline’s ability has an intervening-if clause, which means that there must be at least one creature on the battlefield at the time the ability resolves.

10/04/04

It fails to bring the creature back if the creature is not still in the graveyard at the end of turn.

10/04/04

The creature comes back even if Lifeline leaves the battlefield after triggering, but before it resolves.
