About Liberate

Liberate, Instant, designed by Alan Pollack first released in May, 2020 in the set Invasion and was printed exactly in 2 different ways.

The Liberate card could be beneficial in a deck that focuses on creatures with powerful enter-the-battlefield effects or creatures that have abilities triggered when they enter the battlefield. This card allows you to temporarily exile a creature you control and then bring it back at the end of the turn, essentially resetting its abilities. However, there are better options like Flicker effects such as Flickerwisp or Restoration Angel that provide more flexibility and control over when the creature returns, making them more versatile choices for decks looking to abuse enter-the-battlefield triggers. While Liberate has its niche uses, it may not see widespread play due to the availability of stronger alternatives.

Rules

10/04/04

The creature returns after “at the beginning of the end step” abilities trigger, so any such abilities on the creature will not trigger this turn.
