About Iridescent Hornbeetle

Iridescent Hornbeetle, Creature — insect, designed by Simon Dominic first released in Sep, 2020 in the set Zendikar Rising and was printed exactly in 3 different ways.

A deck focused on +1/+1 counters and token generation would greatly benefit from including Iridescent Hornbeetle in its strategy, as it provides a continuous source of Insect creature tokens based on the counters placed on your creatures each turn. While there may be more powerful cards for similar strategies, such as Doubling Season or Parallel Lives, Iridescent Hornbeetle can still be a valuable addition to decks looking to swarm the board with tokens and leverage +1/+1 counters for advantage. Its ability to generate a growing army of Insect tokens can create overwhelming board presence and pressure opponents, making it a viable option for decks looking to go wide and capitalize on counter synergies.

Rules

09/25/20

If Iridescent Hornbeetle leaves the battlefield before your end step, its ability won’t trigger at all. You won’t create any tokens.

09/25/20

Iridescent Hornbeetle’s ability counts the number of +1/+1 counters you’ve put on your creatures, even if that happened before Iridescent Hornbeetle was on the battlefield, and even if those creatures are no longer on the battlefield or under your control (and, in some rare cases, even if those creatures aren’t creatures anymore).
