A deck that focuses on aggressive red strategies, such as burn or aggro decks, would benefit from including Hungry Flames in their lineup. While Hungry Flames offers a versatile option for dealing damage to both creatures and players or planeswalkers, there are potentially better options like Lightning Bolt or Searing Blaze that provide more efficient damage output for the same cost. However, Hungry Flames could still see play in certain metas where its flexibility is valued.

You can’t cast Hungry Flames unless you target both a creature and a player. If one target is illegal as Hungry Flames resolves, the spell deals damage to the remaining legal target.
