A deck focused on controlling the board and dealing incremental damage would benefit from including Hermetic Study, especially in a blue-based control or tempo strategy. While the card provides a consistent source of damage, there are potentially better options such as Curiosity which not only deals damage but also draws cards upon dealing combat damage. However, Hermetic Study could see play in specific decks looking for a cheap and repeatable damage source.
