This card, Fatal Fumes, would be beneficial in a black control deck that focuses on reducing the power and toughness of opponent's creatures to gain control of the board. While it can be useful in certain situations, there are better alternatives like Fatal Push or Doom Blade that offer more efficient removal options. Fatal Fumes may not see much play in competitive decks due to its higher mana cost and limited impact compared to other removal spells available in Magic: the Gathering.
