About Drudge Beetle

Drudge Beetle, Creature — insect, designed by Slawomir Maniak first released in Oct, 2012 in the set Return to Ravnica and was printed exactly in 3 different ways.

This Drudge Beetle card would be beneficial in a deck that focuses on graveyard interactions and +1/+1 counter synergies, particularly in a green-based deck with ways to fill the graveyard and utilize the Scavenge ability effectively. While Drudge Beetle offers a cost-effective way to boost creatures, there are potentially better options like Varolz, the Scar-Striped, which provides a similar effect but with added flexibility and potential for more significant impact. Whether Drudge Beetle sees play would depend on the specific strategy and synergies of the deck, as well as the overall power level of the format it's being played in.

Rules

04/15/13

Exiling the creature card with scavenge is part of the cost of activating the scavenge ability. Once the ability is activated and the cost is paid, it’s too late to stop the ability from being activated by trying to remove the creature card from the graveyard.
