About Doubling Chant

Doubling Chant, Sorcery, designed by Wayne England first released in Jul, 2011 in the set Magic 2012.

This card, Doubling Chant, would greatly benefit a deck that focuses on creature duplication and tribal synergies, such as a tribal deck with multiple copies of the same creature. While Doubling Chant can be powerful in the right deck, there are better alternatives like Mirror Gallery, which allows for even more copies of the same creature to be on the battlefield. However, Doubling Chant could still see play in specific strategies that rely on mass creature duplication for a surprise win condition or overwhelming board presence.

Rules

09/22/11

If you control no creatures when Doubling Chant resolves, you may still search your library and you must shuffle your library.

09/22/11

The cards you find in your library must be creature cards. For example, you can’t put a land card onto the battlefield even if it has the same name as a land you control that’s also a creature (perhaps because of an ability of that land).
