About Blood for Bones

Blood for Bones, Sorcery, designed by Seb McKinnon first released in Jun, 2019 in the set Core Set 2020.

Blood for Bones would be beneficial in a reanimator deck that focuses on sacrificing creatures for value and bringing them back from the graveyard. While it provides a good amount of card advantage and board presence, there are potentially better options like Unburial Rites or Reanimate that offer more efficient reanimation effects. However, Blood for Bones could still see play in certain graveyard-centric strategies that value the ability to return multiple creatures at once.

Rules

07/12/19

Any abilities that trigger as the creature card is returned to the battlefield won’t resolve until after Blood for Bones is finished resolving.

07/12/19

Blood for Bones doesn’t target the creature cards to return from your graveyard. This means that, while the spell is resolving, no player may take any actions between the time you choose the cards and return them.

07/12/19

You must sacrifice exactly one creature to cast this spell; you can’t cast it without sacrificing a creature, and you can’t sacrifice additional creatures.
