About Bishop of Binding

Bishop of Binding, Creature — vampire cleric, designed by Bastien L. Deharme first released in Jan, 2018 in the set Rivals of Ixalan Promos and was printed exactly in 2 different ways.

This card, Bishop of Binding, would benefit a white-black Vampire tribal deck in Magic: the Gathering due to its ability to exile an opponent's creature and boost a Vampire's power based on the exiled creature's power. While it provides removal and a power boost, other cards like Fiend Hunter offer similar exile effects without the restriction of leaving the battlefield, making them potentially more versatile options. However, Bishop of Binding could still see play in specific Vampire-themed decks for its synergy and utility.

Rules

01/19/18

If a token is exiled this way, it will cease to exist and won’t return to the battlefield.

01/19/18

If Bishop of Binding leaves the battlefield before its first triggered ability tries to resolve, the target creature won’t be exiled.

01/19/18

If there is no exiled card as Bishop of Binding’s last ability resolves, most likely because Bishop of Binding left the battlefield while that ability was on the stack, X is 0. The same is true if the exiled card doesn’t have a power, most likely because it’s a noncreature card that had become a creature.
