Balduvian Warlord, Creature — human barbarian, designed by Paolo Parente first released in Jul, 2006 in the set Coldsnap and was printed exactly in 2 different ways.
A deck focused on aggressive strategies and combat manipulation would benefit from including Balduvian Warlord, as it provides a unique ability to disrupt blocking assignments and potentially create advantageous combat situations. While there may be more efficient or versatile options available, such as cards with similar effects at lower costs or with additional benefits, Balduvian Warlord could still see play in decks looking to capitalize on its specific abilities for strategic advantage.
07/15/06
Balduvian Warlord’s ability may be activated during any player’s turn.
07/15/06
If an attacking creature becomes unblocked this way and remains unblocked, it will deal its combat damage to the defending player. Abilities that say “When this creature attacks and isn’t blocked” won’t trigger.
07/15/06
If an attacking creature has an ability that triggers “When this creature becomes blocked,” it triggers when a creature blocks it due to the Warlord’s ability only if it was unblocked at that point.
07/15/06
The attacking creature will become unblocked only if the targeted creature was the only one that blocked it this combat, even if all the other creatures that were blocking it are no longer on the battlefield or are no longer blocking it (even those removed with other Balduvian Warlords’ abilities).
