Elijah Wood and Orlando Bloom will reunite in the third season of The Gentlemen. Netflix announced that both actors have joined the cast of the new episodes, which are already in production. No premiere date has been announced.

The pair are known for playing Frodo Baggins and Legolas in the original The Lord of the Rings trilogy. This time, their reunion is in a different story: the Netflix series. The announcement confirms their involvement but does not say which characters they will play or how they will fit into the plot.

Wood is also set to return to Middle-earth. He is expected to reprise his role as Frodo in The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum, a film following Gandalf and Aragorn’s search for Gollum. That part of the story appears near the beginning of The Fellowship of the Ring, but was largely left out of Peter Jackson’s 2001 adaptation.

Another film tied to the franchise, The Lord of the Rings: Shadows of the Past, is in development. The project is expected to bring together two storylines: one set after the events of The Return of the King, focusing on Sam’s family life, and another based on passages from The Fellowship of the Ring that were not included in Jackson’s film.

Despite the new The Lord of the Rings projects, The Gentlemen is where Wood and Bloom have been announced together. The third season remains in production, with Netflix yet to announce a release date.
