General Hospital won the Daytime Emmy for outstanding daytime drama at the ceremony held Friday night. The series also took home three other awards and honored Genie Francis, who received the lifetime achievement award.

Beyond the Gates picked up four wins. Tamara Tunie won her first Daytime Emmy for outstanding lead actress in a daytime drama series. In her acceptance speech, she paid tribute to the Black actresses who paved the way for her, including Cicely Tyson, the first Black woman to appear on a daytime television program, in The Guiding Light.

Scott Clifton of The Bold and the Beautiful won outstanding lead actor in a daytime drama. His co-star Heather Tom was nominated for outstanding lead actress and could have set a new record with her seventh win, which would have made her the most-awarded actress in the category’s history.

The Young and the Restless led the nominations with 18 and won three awards. Two came in the supporting acting categories: Roger Howarth won outstanding supporting actor, while Beth Maitland was named outstanding supporting actress.

With five awards, The Kelly Clarkson Show was the night’s biggest winner and took home outstanding daytime talk series. The singer and host, however, did not attend the ceremony and did not win outstanding daytime talk series host. That award went to Sherri Shepherd, whose self-titled show was canceled after four seasons.

Among the other winners, Tracee Ellis Ross won outstanding travel and adventure program for Solo Traveling. Keke Palmer won for her work as an executive producer on Glam Through the Ages. Ina Garten was named outstanding culinary host for Be My Guest, which also won outstanding instructional culinary program.

The ceremony also featured a speech by NATAS president Terry O’Reilly on press freedom and creative expression. He spoke about the challenges facing journalists and television programs and urged the audience to stand up to those seeking a quieter media, just days before the 2026 midterm elections.
