Calvin Harris will play a free concert on Copacabana Beach in Rio de Janeiro in November 2027. The Scottish DJ and producer will be the first act in Rio Summer Sounds, a new TV Globo series of electronic music performances along the city's beachfront.

The announcement came at Upfront Globo 2027, where the broadcaster unveiled its plans for the coming year. The exact date of Harris's performance has not yet been announced.

Rio Summer Sounds is planned to run in Copacabana for five consecutive years, with free concerts each year. Globo plans to broadcast the shows live on television and its digital platforms. So far, Harris is the only act confirmed for the series' launch; no performers have been announced for later editions.

The concert will be another appearance in Brazil for Harris. Before the newly announced 2027 date, he took part in Brazilian Carnival and closed the World Stage program at Rock in Rio 2026. This time, he will perform as part of Globo's own electronic music series, which is planned to continue in the years ahead.

Although it will also take place in Copacabana, Rio Summer Sounds is separate from Todo Mundo no Rio, the project that brought Madonna, Lady Gaga and Shakira to the beach. The distinction matters for anyone following announcements of major concerts in the city: Calvin Harris's show is part of the new series, not Todo Mundo no Rio. The month is set, but the exact concert date has yet to be announced.
