Tom Holland has taken the lead in a ranking of the highest-grossing actors in cinema. Films starring the actor have generated approximately US$ 15.5 billion at the worldwide box office, putting him ahead of Zoe Saldaña.

The change came weeks after Holland ranked third. At the end of August, Zoe Saldaña led with around US$ 15.47 billion, followed by Scarlett Johansson with US$ 15.4 billion. Holland stood at approximately US$ 15.2 billion during the same period.

The surge was driven largely by Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Holland’s fourth solo film as Peter Parker has already grossed around US$ 2.4 billion worldwide, ranking third among the highest-grossing films in history, behind Avatar and Avengers: Endgame.

In its debut, the film earned US$ 932 million worldwide over its opening weekend, including US$ 360 million from the United States and Canada. Sony confirmed the figures following the release, which set a new opening-weekend record in those markets.

The Odyssey, directed by Christopher Nolan and featuring Holland in its cast, also contributed to the milestone. The epic has surpassed US$ 1.6 billion worldwide, giving the actor two films that crossed the US$ 1 billion mark in the same year — including one that exceeded US$ 2 billion.

Much of Holland’s career total comes from his role as Spider-Man, including four solo films and productions such as Captain America: Civil War, Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame and Spider-Man: No Way Home. Outside Marvel, he also starred in Uncharted.

The ranking may vary depending on the methodology and which roles are included. Still, at 30, Holland has built up figures boosted by a string of major releases in 2026. Spider-Man: Brand New Day remains in theaters.
