Evan Peters

Evan Peters (born January 20, 1987) is an American actor whose career moved from teen film roles to acclaimed television performances. He was born in St. Louis, Missouri, and raised in Ballwin, Missouri. At fifteen, he relocated with his mother to Los Angeles to pursue acting. His early credits included the 2004 drama Clipping Adam, in which he played Adam Sheppard, and the 2005 Disney Channel film Phil of the Future. He also appeared in the short-lived ABC series The Days, a 2004 drama following young travelers on a round-the-world trip.

Peters became especially associated with Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk's anthology series American Horror Story. Beginning with Murder House in 2011, he played Tate Langdon, a troubled ghost connected to the show's haunted Los Angeles residence. Across later seasons, he portrayed markedly different characters, including Kit Walker in Asylum, Kyle Spencer in Coven, Jimmy Darling in Freak Show, and hotel owner James Patrick March in Hotel. In Cult, he played Kai Anderson, a politically manipulative cult leader, as well as several historical figures in an episode. He returned for Apocalypse and Double Feature, but said after the latter that he needed a break from such emotionally demanding material.

Outside the anthology, Peters played Quicksilver, also known as Peter Maximoff, in 20th Century Fox's X-Men films. His character debuted in X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014), where a slow-motion kitchen escape sequence set to "Time in a Bottle" became one of the film's most discussed scenes. He reprised the role in X-Men: Apocalypse (2016) and Dark Phoenix (2019). Peters also appeared in Kick-Ass (2010), its 2013 sequel, The Lazarus Effect (2015), and the 2017 drama American Animals, playing Warren Lipka in Bart Layton's film about the real 2004 Transylvania University library heist.

In 2021, Peters joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe on WandaVision, initially appearing as Pietro Maximoff in a casting twist tied to his X-Men history. The series ultimately identified the character as Ralph Bohner, a Westview resident manipulated by Agatha Harkness. His most celebrated recent performance came in Netflix's Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story (2022). Peters portrayed serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer in the limited series created by Murphy and Ian Brennan. The role earned him a Golden Globe for Best Actor in a Limited Series or Television Film and a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie for that television performance.
