The Odyssey has grossed US$ 1.1 billion at the global box office after four weekends in theaters, becoming the highest-grossing film of Christopher Nolan's career.

The adaptation of Homer's epic has surpassed The Dark Knight Rises, released in 2012, which earned US$ 1.085 billion worldwide. Of The Odyssey's current total, US$ 461.1 million came from the domestic market and US$ 643.6 million from international territories.

The result puts the film at the top of Nolan's filmography in worldwide box office earnings. Combined, the director's films have now surpassed US$ 7 billion at the global box office.

Universal also holds the fourth-biggest hit of Nolan's career: Oppenheimer, winner of seven Oscars, finished its run with US$ 975.8 million worldwide. The studio is now celebrating another milestone with The Odyssey, which received an A CinemaScore from audiences.

The film also ranks second among the highest-grossing R-rated films in both the United States and worldwide. Ahead of it is Deadpool & Wolverine, which earned US$ 636.7 million domestically and US$ 1.33 billion worldwide. In 2026, The Odyssey leads among films with that rating in both markets.

The production is also the highest-grossing film worldwide in the careers of Matt Damon, Anne Hathaway and Robert Pattinson. In the overall annual rankings, it trails Spider-Man: Brand New Day, with more than US$ 1.26 billion, and ranks ahead of Toy Story 5, which stands at US$ 1.09 billion.
