Paul Mescal, Joseph Quinn, Barry Keoghan and Harris Dickinson have been spotted recreating the Abbey Road cover during filming for The Beatles – A Four-Film Cinematic Event, Sam Mendes' Beatles biopic.

Mescal plays Paul McCartney, Quinn portrays George Harrison, Keoghan takes on the role of Ringo Starr and Dickinson plays John Lennon. Videos shared on social media show the four actors crossing a pedestrian crossing in single file, recreating the composition of the 1969 album cover.

The original photograph was taken on August 8 that year outside EMI Studios in London. The iconic image shows Lennon, Starr, McCartney and Harrison walking across the crossing. For Mendes' films, the actors recreate the scene in the order of the characters they portray.

The project will be split into four films, each told from the perspective of a different band member. The stories will feature interconnected narratives, while specific plot details remain under wraps. Apple Corps, the Beatles' record label, granted the feature films the rights to use the band's full music catalogue.

It has not yet been confirmed how many songs from Abbey Road will appear in the production. The films will also feature David Morrissey as Jim McCartney, Paul's father; Leanne Best as Aunt Mimi, John Lennon's aunt; James Norton as Brian Epstein, the group's manager; and Harry Lloyd as George Martin, the music producer.

The cast also includes Bobby Schofield as Neil Aspinall, the Beatles' road manager; Daniel Hoffman-Gill as Mal Evans, a roadie; Arthur Darvill as Derek Taylor, the band's press officer; and Adam Pally as Allen Klein, a music manager whose role was considered controversial.

Distributed by Sony Pictures, the four films are scheduled for release in April 2028. An exact release date has yet to be announced.
