BTS, BLACKPINK and K-pop score nominations at the 2026 VMAs

BTS, BLACKPINK, Lisa, CORTIS, LE SSERAFIM, KATSEYE and HUNTR/X are among the nominees for the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards.

The MTV Video Music Awards 2026 announced the nominees for its upcoming ceremony on August 18, including several prominent K-pop acts. BTS, BLACKPINK, CORTIS, LE SSERAFIM, KATSEYE and HUNTR/X are among the contenders.

BTS received two nominations for “SWIM”: Song of the Year and Best K-Pop. HUNTR/X’s “Golden” is also nominated for Song of the Year. The song appears in the animated film KPop Demon Hunters and is performed by EJAE, Audrey Nuna and Rei Ami.

BLACKPINK’s Lisa has four solo nominations for the music video for “Dream,” which features Kentaro Sakaguchi. The video is up for Best Pop, Best K-Pop, Best Cinematography and Best Editing. The group was also nominated for Best K-Pop with “JUMP.”

CORTIS has earned its first VMA nominations. The group is competing for Best New Artist and Best K-Pop with “REDRED.” KATSEYE received two nominations for “PINKY UP,” in the Best Choreography and Best K-Pop categories.

LE SSERAFIM rounds out the list with “SPAGHETTI,” featuring BTS’ j-hope, which is nominated for Best K-Pop. The category includes BLACKPINK’s “JUMP”; BTS’ “SWIM”; CORTIS’ “REDRED”; KATSEYE’s “PINKY UP”; LE SSERAFIM’s “SPAGHETTI”; and Lisa’s “Dream.”

The ceremony will be broadcast live from Los Angeles on September 27 at 7:30 p.m. Eastern Time in the United States, or 4:30 p.m. Pacific Time. Voting remains open in most categories until September 25 at 6 p.m. Eastern Time. For Best New Artist, voting will continue through the live broadcast.
