Alok and NAYEON, a member of South Korean girl group TWICE, released “Bye Bye Inhibitions” on digital platforms this Friday (2). The track combines the Brazilian DJ’s electronic production with the singer’s pop vocals.

With a sound aimed at dance floors and major festivals, the song brings together an upbeat rhythm and elements of dance-pop, hip-hop and trap. The chorus follows the concept suggested by the title, while the lyrics are about letting go of inhibitions, enjoying the moment and giving in to the music.

Some fans were already familiar with the collaboration before its official release. Alok first performed “Bye Bye Inhibitions” during his set on the Mundo Stage at Rock in Rio in September. At the time, NAYEON’s vocals appeared on the track even though the collaboration had not been officially announced.

The performance also revealed a rap verse performed by the singer. At the time, Alok said he would travel to South Korea in October to perform the song alongside the group.

Alok and NAYEON will give their first joint performance this Sunday (4), when the TWICE member makes a special appearance during the DJ’s set at EDC Korea. It will be the track’s live debut with both artists on the same stage.

“Bye Bye Inhibitions” arrives during NAYEON’s solo activities. The singer officially launched her solo career in 2022 with the release of the EP “IM NAYEON”. Two years later, she released the mini-album “NA”, further developing her individual career outside of TWICE’s group activities.
