Adam Driver confirmed that he will play Mister Sinister in the new X-Men film. Appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, the actor cleared up the confusion surrounding Marvel’s D23 announcement, which introduced him as Nathaniel Milbury, one of the villain’s aliases in the comics.Driver said he had turned down previous offers to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe, though he did not say which roles he had been offered. This time, his childhood connection to the X-Men, director Jake Schreier’s vision for the film and the script won him over. “It was really the X-Men, the idea Jake Schreier, the director, had for the film, and Kevin Feige. Everything just fell into place. The script is really cool”- Adam DriverDriver’s interest in the mutants predates his acting career. He said he watched the animated series as a child and recalled playing X-Men with his cousin Tony: Tony was Sabretooth, while Driver was Wolverine. That history also adds to the pressure he feels about joining the film. “I don’t want to mess it up. I’m a huge X-Men fan,” he said.Mister Sinister was created by Chris Claremont and Marc Silvestri for the comics. His real name is Nathaniel Essex, a scientist obsessed with genetics and mutant evolution. The Summers family, particularly Cyclops and his descendants, are among the subjects of his experiments. The character had been hinted at in earlier X-Men films but had yet to appear in the franchise.Jake Schreier will direct the new film, with Kit Connor as Cyclops, Sadie Sink as Jean Grey, Christopher Abbott as Professor Xavier, Maya Boyd as Storm, Inde Navarrette as Rogue and Samara Weaving as Emma Frost. The film is scheduled to open in theaters on May 5, 2028.Reporting from Legião dos Heróis.
