Tomohiro Suzuki

Tomohiro Suzuki is a Japanese screenwriter whose credits include major anime adaptations and franchise films. He was the series composer and a scriptwriter for Madhouse's 2015 television adaptation of ONE and Yusuke Murata's One-Punch Man. The series follows Saitama, a hero so overwhelmingly strong that ordinary battles no longer challenge him, and Suzuki's work helped shape its episodic presentation for television. He returned as series composer for One-Punch Man 2nd Season, broadcast in 2019, when J.C.STAFF produced the continuation. Both seasons adapt material from the manga, whose original webcomic was created by ONE. His credits therefore span two separate animated productions. Suzuki also handled series composition on ACCA: 13-Territory Inspection Dept., the 2017 television anime produced by Madhouse from Natsume Ono's manga. The story centers on Jean Otus, an ACCA inspector, as he travels through the kingdom's thirteen autonomous territories amid rumors of a coup. This assignment placed Suzuki on an adaptation with a very different rhythm from One-Punch Man: a political drama built around inspections, food, and administrative routines. In 2019, he was also credited with series composition for Boogiepop and Others, an anime based on Kouhei Kadono's light novel series. The adaptation begins with students encountering the Boogiepop persona. Boogiepop and Others adapts Kadono's continuing Boogiepop light novel line, whose first volume, Boogiepop wa Warawanai, introduced the title figure in 1998. The 2019 anime uses a nonlinear structure, returning to events from different characters' perspectives as supernatural incidents unfold around Shinyo Academy. Suzuki's series-composition credit connects him to the project across its eighteen episodes. The anime draws on several Kadono novels, including Boogiepop wa Warawanai and the Imaginator arc. Its central mystery involves the disappearance of students and the appearance of Manticore, a being connected to the incidents. This source material differs sharply from the action comedy of One-Punch Man and ACCA. Taken together, these credits document Suzuki's role in adaptations rather than provide a single generic label for his work. One-Punch Man began as ONE's webcomic before Murata redrew it as a manga for Shueisha's Tonari no Young Jump website. The 2015 anime covered Saitama's early encounters with Genos, the Hero Association, and the House of Evolution. ACCA, meanwhile, sets its intrigue in the Kingdom of Dowa, whose thirteen districts give the series its institutional framework. Boogiepop and Others places its events in a contemporary school setting where Boogiepop emerges when threats appear. Across these productions, Suzuki received documented series composition credit.
