Lee Jun-young

Lee Jun-young, known professionally as Jun, is a South Korean singer and actor born on January 22, 1997. He joined the boy group U-KISS in 2014, becoming part of a lineup that continued the group’s work after its earlier international success. In 2018, he competed on KBS2’s idol reboot program The Unit and finished first among male contestants. That result placed him in the project group UNB, whose members promoted together until the group disbanded in January 2019. Acting became a major part of Lee’s public career with his 2017 television debut in Avengers Social Club, a tvN series about three women pursuing revenge. He subsequently appeared in Goodbye to Goodbye and played a student in Class of Lies, the 2019 school thriller centered on an attorney investigating a murder. In 2021, he portrayed the fictional idol Lee Su-woong in Imitation, a drama set amid competing entertainment companies and struggling idol groups. The role also required staged idol performances. Lee widened his screen profile through Netflix releases. In Love and Leashes, the 2022 romantic comedy adapted from the webtoon Moral Sense, he played Jung Ji-ho, an office worker whose private submissive preferences lead to an unusual contractual relationship with colleague Jung Ji-woo. He appeared in D.P., Netflix’s military drama adapted from Kim Bo-tong’s webtoon, as Private Jung Hyun-min during its first season in 2021. The series depicts a military police unit assigned to find deserters who have fled service. His later television work includes May I Help You?, in which he starred as Kim Tae-hee, known as Butler Kim, an employee of a service that carries out the final requests of deceased people. In 2023 he joined the ensemble of Netflix’s Mask Girl, portraying Choi Bu-yong, a prison officer entangled in the story’s later events. He also took a leading role in the 2024 Disney+ drama The Impossible Heir as Kang In-ha, the illegitimate son of a chaebol chairman, Kang In-ju. On film, Lee played Han Su-gang in Brave Citizen, released in 2023, opposite Shin Hye-sun’s teacher So Si-min. The action drama follows Si-min, a former boxing champion who confronts a violent student at her new school. Across music, television, streaming series, and film, Lee has moved between idol-centered projects and roles that often expose coercive workplaces, bullying, or unequal power. His credits therefore trace a documented shift from group performances to a steadily expanding acting filmography over the past decade.
