Marcelo Adnet is a Brazilian comedian, actor, and television presenter whose career spans MTV Brasil, TV Globo, and Brazilian cinema. Born in Rio de Janeiro in 1981, he became widely known through *15 Minutos*, which premiered on MTV Brasil in 2008. The program gave him space to improvise, sing comic songs, and imitate public figures. Those skills became a recurring feature of his work: Adnet could shift rapidly between voices and mannerisms while keeping a sketch tied to a recognizable person, television format, or event.
At MTV, Adnet also appeared in *Comédia MTV*, a sketch show built around parodies of Brazilian popular culture. His performances drew on the sounds as well as the images of television: a newsreader's cadence, a celebrity's speech, or the musical style of a familiar song could all become the basis of a joke. He also moved into film. In the 2012 comedy *Os Penetras*, he starred alongside Eduardo Sterblitch; the two returned for a sequel released in 2017. These projects brought his comic style to a setting far from MTV's short sketches.
Adnet joined TV Globo in 2013 and starred that year in *O Dentista Mascarado*. His most sustained Globo project was *Tá no Ar: a TV na TV*, created with Marcius Melhem. Broadcast from 2014 to 2019, it treated television itself as its subject, parodying commercials, news programs, entertainment shows, and other familiar broadcasts. Its sketches often depended on precise imitations of the visual language and tone of what they mocked. For Adnet, it was a larger stage for the impersonation and musical parody that had helped establish him at MTV, while allowing longer and more elaborate productions.
He later appeared on Globo's revamped sketch program *Zorra* and co-hosted *Fora de Hora* with Paulo Vieira. The latter, which debuted in 2020, used the structure of a news broadcast for satire. Across these programs, Adnet has repeatedly worked with forms Brazilian viewers know well rather than treating comedy as a string of unrelated punch lines. *15 Minutos* made his improvisation visible; *Tá no Ar* turned the conventions of Brazilian television into material for carefully staged sketches; and *Fora de Hora* applied that approach to the news. His career is notable not simply for impersonating famous people, but for using their voices, and the formats that carry them, to examine how public life appears on screen. That combination has remained identifiable across music, film, and television throughout his career in Brazil.
