Han So-hee, born Lee So-hee on November 18, 1994, is a South Korean actor whose rise to prominence came with JTBC’s 2020 drama The World of the Married. Born in Ulsan, she moved to Seoul after finishing high school and initially worked in modeling. Before her television debut, she appeared in SHINee’s 2016 music video for “Tell Me What to Do.” Her early screen credits included a supporting role in MBC’s 2017 series Money Flower and appearances in 100 Days My Prince (2018) and Abyss (2019).
In The World of the Married, adapted from the BBC drama Doctor Foster, Han played Yeo Da-kyung, the younger woman involved with Lee Tae-oh, a married director played by Park Hae-joon. The series, led by Kim Hee-ae as physician Ji Sun-woo, became a major ratings success in South Korea, and Han’s portrayal made her widely recognized. Rather than remaining in similar roles, she followed it with the romance drama Nevertheless in 2021. She played Yoo Na-bi, an art student drawn into an unstable relationship with Park Jae-eon, portrayed by Song Kang. The series was based on a webtoon of the same name and streamed internationally through Netflix.
Later in 2021, Han starred in Netflix’s action noir My Name as Yoon Ji-woo. After her father is killed, Ji-woo joins a drug organization headed by Choi Mu-jin and enters the police under an assumed identity to pursue revenge. The role required extensive action training and presented Han in fight scenes markedly different from her earlier romantic work. My Name was directed by Kim Jin-min and featured Park Hee-soon and Ahn Bo-hyun.
Han reunited with director Kim Jin-min for Netflix’s period thriller Gyeongseong Creature. Set in Gyeongseong, the name used for Seoul during Japanese colonial rule, its first season follows pawnshop owner Jang Tae-sang and missing-person specialist Yoon Chae-ok as they confront creatures born from human experimentation in 1945. Han played Chae-ok opposite Park Seo-joon. The first season was released in two parts in December 2023, while its second season moved the story to 2024 Seoul and arrived in September 2024.
She also headlined the four-episode Disney+ romance Soundtrack #1 (2022) alongside Park Hyung-sik. As lyricist Seo Eun-soo, she spends two weeks living with her longtime friend Han Sun-woo while trying to write a song about unrequited love. Across these projects, Han has worked in melodrama, romance, action, and thriller settings, building a career around different screen personas.
