Toy Story 5 has already grossed US$ 1.094 billion at the worldwide box office, making it the third-highest-grossing Pixar animated film. It trails Inside Out 2, with US$ 1.6 billion, and Incredibles 2, which grossed US$ 1.2 billion.

The sequel has also entered the TOP 8 highest-grossing Hollywood animated films in cinema history. Among this year's releases, it ranks third at the box office, behind Spider-Man: Brand New Day, with US$ 1.6 billion, and The Odyssey, with US$ 1.1 billion.

In the United States, Toy Story 5 has grossed US$ 470.4 million. International markets have contributed US$ 623.6 million across 52 territories. Mexico, the United Kingdom, Japan, China and France are the five largest markets outside the US, with US$ 78 million, US$ 71.6 million, US$ 65.7 million, US$ 42 million and US$ 35 million, respectively.

The film opened globally with US$ 160 million. That result marked the year's biggest domestic opening and the franchise's biggest debut. It was also the second-biggest opening for an animated film in the United States, behind Incredibles 2, with US$ 182.6 million. Toy Story 5 also scored the third-biggest opening in history for the month of June.

The animated film has a 93% critics' score on Rotten Tomatoes and received an A CinemaScore from audiences. That rating is on par with the previous installments, surpassed only by Toy Story 2's A+.

In the story, Woody, Buzz Lightyear, Jessie and the other toys face Lilypad, a tablet with ideas about what would be best for Bonnie. Tom Hanks, Tim Allen, Joan Cusack and Greta Lee are among the voice cast. Andrew Stanton and McKenna Harris directed the film, which is still playing in theaters nationwide.
