Prime Video has released a new teaser for Madden, the biopic directed by David O. Russell and starring Nicolas Cage and Christian Bale. Cage plays coach and broadcaster John Madden, while Bale portrays Al Davis, the late owner of the Raiders. The film premieres on the platform on November 18.

The teaser offers a look at the film, which also stars John Mulaney, Kathryn Hahn and Sienna Miller.

Despite being named after an American football figure, Madden will take a different approach from a traditional biopic: it will explore the origins of Madden NFL, one of the biggest video game franchises of all time. Plot details remain scarce.

That gaming connection also extends to Mulaney's casting. He will play Trip Hawkins, the founder of EA Sports and a key figure behind the Madden Football video game. Hahn will play John Madden's wife, Virginia, while Miller portrays Al Davis's wife, Carol.

In an official statement, Russell praised Cage's originality and described John Madden as a figure defined by fun and determination. The director also cited Madden's humanity and genius as central to the film, set against the inventive backdrop of the 1970s, and highlighted Al Davis's individualism.

Russell, known for American Hustle, directs from a screenplay he developed from an earlier draft by Cambron Clark. Escape Artists' Todd Black produces alongside Jason Blumenthal, Steve Tisch, Jonathan Shukat, Matthew Budman and Russell himself.
