Warner Bros. has released the first official teaser trailer for Gremlins 3, the latest installment in the classic horror franchise. The video marks the return of the mischievous creatures known for their blend of chaos, destruction and humor.Chris Columbus will direct the new film. He wrote the screenplay for the first Gremlins and is also known for directing films such as Home Alone and Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. Columbus did not work on Gremlins 2: The New Batch, which was written by Charles S. Haas.Joe Dante, who directed the first two films, is not involved in the project. Zach Galligan, who played Billy in the 1984 and 1990 films, is expected to return for the sequel.The information released lists two different dates for Gremlins 3 to hit theaters: October 6, 2028, and November 19, 2027. The material does not clarify which one is the final release date.In the original story, Billy’s father gives him a mogwai named Gizmo, purchased from a Chinese shop. The creature comes with three rules: it must not be exposed to bright light, get wet or be fed after midnight. When these instructions are ignored, Gizmo gives rise to the gremlins, who turn the town of Kingston Falls into a scene of fires, explosions, accidents and attacks.The creatures also multiply when exposed to water and are vulnerable to intense light.
