I Play Rocky

Scheduled for November 19, 2026, *I Play Rocky* tells the true story of Sylvester Stallone’s determination to play Rocky Balboa. The film’s announced premise centers on a conviction that writing *Rocky* was not enough for him: he believed he had to portray its lead character himself.

At the time depicted, Stallone is an unknown actor facing rejection at every turn. Rather than give up the role, he bets everything on himself and holds firm against seemingly impossible odds. The story is about the fight to bring *Rocky* to the screen with its writer in the starring role—not about Rocky Balboa’s fights in the ring.
