Another Mother opened up a lead in the U.S. box office race. The horror film starring Jessica Chastain grossed US$ 3.6 million from previews held in 2,850 theaters across the country, outperforming The Other Side of the Web.The Universal release, produced in partnership with Blumhouse and Atomic Monster, is expected to finish its opening weekend with between US$ 22 million and US$ 28 million. Some projections are as high as US$ 35 million, buoyed by the horror genre's strong momentum in 2026.Based on its preview results, Another Mother is also expected to overtake Verity, the adaptation of Colleen Hoover's book starring Anne Hathaway. The film is produced by Blumhouse and Atomic Monster, companies associated with Jason Blum and James Wan.The US$ 3.6 million preview haul puts the horror film in a strong position to turn its opening into a significant commercial result. Audience response to the trailer, however, has been accompanied by an initially negative reception, which could affect the film's performance over the course of the weekend.
